BEFS announces Scotland’s HES database on ‘heritage by constituency’, in advance of elections
Built Environment forum Scotland (BEFS) has announced that, following their encouragement, Historic Environment Scotland (HES) has established a database using its existing GIS data so users can search for designated assets by constituency and council ward.

Construction’s ‘Open Doors’ A chance to go behind the scenes of Britain’s buildings – 27 March to 1 April, UK-wide

Transforming old pumphouse buildings, chapels, and drill halls into community spaces and creating sustainable enterprises, arts venues, and business hubs are among projects sharing in £444,941 of grants from the Big Lottery Fund.

HLF five year ‘Bats in Churches’ partnership project
Thousands of bats will be allowed to remain in historic churches under a £5 million Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) scheme that will try to reduce the damage they cause but also requires congregations to accept them as permanent residents.
