IHBC Conservation Area 50th Anniversary Celebrations fund allocations: Thanks to all, and submissions accepted for waiting list

IHBC CA Fund logoAllocations from the IHBC’s Conservation Area 50th Anniversary Celebrations fund are now finished, but groups may still compete the application form if they wish to be placed on a waiting list for un-claimed allocations.

IHBC Vice Chair Kathy Davies said: ‘The IHBC is delighted to have been able to offer this highly successful funding support for such a worthy cause, and we would like to thank all who took the trouble to develop ideas and make their applications.’

‘Conservation Areas represent a critical advance in conservation legislation, bringing the benefits and potential of area-based heritage management to local communities.’

‘These funds have offered everyone a chance to value and celebrate the achievements of the historic legislation.’

‘And we know that the funding is also promoting serious reflection on the extent to which we are all doing justice today to such a remarkable step change in local civic care for our valued places.’

‘And if any more funds are freed up – for example if some proposals don’t progress – we will re-allocate the funds to new applicants following a ‘first come’ arrangement.’
