THA on ‘Heritage & Profit – who gains more?’

The Heritage Alliance (THA) is taking the latest in its series of popular debates to Paintworks in Bristol on 6 November.

THA writes:
Heritage & Profit – who gains more? will explore the relationship between enterprise and the historic environment, showing how public and private interests use heritage to drive their business and how economic activity around our older buildings, our heritage railways, our collections, our leisure monuments and festival venues drive millions of businesses across the country.

THA Chairman Loyd Grossman, no stranger to business himself, will lead the panel of three speakers drawn from different commercial and heritage backgrounds. We will discuss who gets most out of the investment – the owner, the entrepreneur, the public or the government.

Joining Loyd on the panel are George Ferguson, architect and Mayor of Bristol; Dr Anna Farthing, Creative Director of Harvest Heritage, Arts and Media; and Nick Sturge, Centre Director for the SETsquared business incubator.

The debate will start at six thirty, with a reception to follow. Places are limited to 130 so early registration is key. To register, please email events@theheritagealliance.org.uk by 30 October. Tickets will be by acknowledgement email.
