Gloucestershire solar park wins appeal

Developer MS Power Projects has won its appeal for a large solar farm comprising 11,500 solar PV panels on land at Norton Hall, near Mickleton in Gloucestershire, refused by Cotswold District Council and despite the fact that the planning inspector who held the public inquiry concluded that the 2.5 megawatt scheme would not be ‘materially harmful to the character of the landscape’.

The site is on the edge of the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and faced significant local opposition, including the constituency MP Geoffery Clinton-Brown.
