Government review of CITB kicks off

The Government’s Triennial Review of the CITB – Construction Industry Training Board – is now under way, with a report setting out the outcome expected to be published next spring.

CITB writes:

Led by the Cabinet Office and BiS, the Review is looking at the way the organisation operates and its support for the construction industry.

Commenting on the Review, William Burton interim CEO of the CITB said: ‘Since CITB was set up nearly 50 years ago it has concentrated on being flexible, innovative and moving with the times to meet the changing training and skills needs of the industry. The Triennial Review provides a real opportunity to ensure that we continue to do this in the most effective way possible.

‘Both CITB and the Review team want to make sure that the industry has every opportunity to contribute to the Review. Some companies will be approached directly and there will be an online survey which will give any organisation or individual the opportunity to express their views. We are determined to make sure that the Review is as open as possible and will provide regular updates on progress and the opportunities for the industry to take part’.
