EH 2012 Annual Report picks out IHBC projects

English Heritage’s (EH) Annual Report for 2011-12 is now out, and notes EH’s concern over the staffing levels in local authorities, based on figures provided in partnership by IHBC and the Association of Local Authority Archaeological Officers (ALGAO), while highlighting the practical benefits of its report on saving buildings at risk, Stopping the Rot, produced using the services of the IHBC.

Simon Thurley, EH Chief Executive, writes in EH’s Annual Report for 2012:

‘We understand local authority staff resources have fallen around 10% in the past year so this is a major cause for concern….

… For wider application and by way of a pragmatic response to the current economic climate… [we] also updated our guidance on how to save at risk buildings: Stopping the Rot.
