IHBC welcomes Hirst Conservation to HESPR – IHBC’s register of quality-assured conservation and heritage practices

Hirst Conservation is the latest company to be accepted on to the IHBC conservation and heritage services ‘HESPR’ listing, of heritage businesses to benefit from IHBC’s quality assurance.

Hirst Conservation was established in 1986 and provides a holistic approach to the conservation of objects, buildings and associated surfaces. They have developed an extensive portfolio and client base over the last 40 years in our conservation work and in 2023  introduced Architectural Services to broaden their offer and are now a RIBA Chartered Practice.

Elizabeth Hirst, Founding Director said: ‘I have been a member of the IHBC since 2009 and have always found their offering and support to be of great benefit to my professional practice. I am delighted that Hirst Conservation is now joining HESPR and am looking forward to the connections that this will foster, particularly in relation to our architectural services which enhances the way we can support our clients and work with our collaborators.’

Quality assurance for HESPR listing is strictly controlled through the employment a Full IHBC member – the ‘Designated Service Adviser’ (DSA) – in a role that allows them to take professional responsibility for the service standards offered to clients. This means that the IHBC can ensure that our members are in a reasonable position to offer their assurance of the quality of the conservation services.  As such the DSA should be the first port of call for any concerns over work carried out by a HESPR company.

You can find the ‘Designated Service Adviser’ (DSA) listed on the dedicated HESPR business webpage and on the list of accredited practitioners linked from the IHBC’s homepage.
