Grade II survives Frome redevelopment

Outline plans to expand Frome’s town centre and redevelop a large area of semi-derelict land on its eastern side has been approved by Mendip District Council, with a single building to be retained within the application site – the Notts Mill Grade II-listed office building, planned to be converted for retail, financial services, restaurant and café uses as well as providing new flats.

Developer Terramond’s proposals for the 12-acre site include up to 350 new homes, restaurants, café, bars and both new retail and commercial floor space. The scheme, subject to negotiations over a s106 agreement, represents the biggest regeneration project for the Somerset town for decades.
