IHBC’s ‘Heritage from the global doorstep’: Chair of Commonwealth Heritage Forum on ‘Conserving heritage sites in Guyana’
A recent visit to Guyana by Commonwealth Heritage Forum Chairman Francis Maude and CEO Philip Davies has highlighted the urgency for action to preserve and enhance the varied heritage of this little visited nation.

IHBC’s ‘Members with benefits’: CPD at London’s Listed Property Show, 2-3/02/24, with reductions for IHBC members
The Listed Property Show – ‘the biggest collection of listed building suppliers and experts under one roof’ – takes place in London on 2-3 February, and this year includes the Energy Efficiency Feature focussed on retrofitting, with Workshop rates reduced 25% for IHBC members.

IHBC seeks paid expert leads for priority new topics in Branch CPD training: ‘Fire Protection’, ‘Enforcement’ and ‘Placemaking & Design Codes’: Closing 6 January 2024
The IHBC is seeking ‘expressions of interest’ from nationally recognised lead conservation experts in three new priority areas: ‘Fire Protection & Regulations’, ‘Enforcement’, and ‘Placemaking & Design Codes’ as it expands the IHBC Branch CPD training pilot, which funds locally accessible, quality-assured priority CPD through national and regional Branches.

IHBC Legislation Signpost, for #IHBCReading2024: Landlord to pay almost £100k after council prosecution secures confiscation order
A landlord has been hit with a confiscation order and forced to pay £93K after pleading guilty to a breach of two Planning Enforcement Notices issued by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council (BCP Council).

House set within a ruin is winner of RIAS Doolan Award for Best Building in Scotland
Cuddymoss – a ‘building within a ruin’ in north Ayrshire designed by Ann Nisbet Studio – has won the Andrew Doolan Best Building in Scotland Award by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
