The Planning Inspectorate has published a brand-new advice page on Good Design.
GOV.UK writes:
This advice explains why good design is important, what success might look like and how it might be delivered in applications for Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects. It is aimed mainly at applicants but will benefit all participants in the Planning Act 2008 process. Advice on Good Design is available under the heading Advice on design and technical matters within our advice collection.
Our phased approach to advice updates
As previously communicated, we are updating our advice collection in three phases.?The first set of updated advice (phase one) was published in August 2024. The second set of updated advice (phase two) was published in September 2024. Our new advice on Good Design is published in advance of the third set of updated advice (phase 3) which is now expected to follow next year. The Planning Inspectorate will issue further news on the progress of this work in due course.
