A new report developed by ‘The Mighty Creatives’ working with Research Centre for Museums and Galleries (RCMG) at the University of Leicester has studied the potential for young people’s engagement with ‘heritage rich settings’, looking at the East Midlands as an example.
The study is divided into several topics, as follows:
- ‘Historic houses do work with children and young people but they are not always the main organisational priority ‘
- ‘Historic houses are a fragmented group with no single ‘voice.’ There are many barriers to engaging with children and young people’
- ‘What opportunities exist for historic houses to develop cultural provision for children and young people?’
- Case studies and records from 53 historic properties in the East Midlands.
