Senior consultant sought for IHBC: @£10,000 for 50 days

The IHBC is seeking immediate senior-level support from a consultant to help our National Office with a range of management and service areas – including Human Resources; Online publishing (including research), Corporate planning, and Project development, management and delivery – at a fixed-sum contract of £10,000 for 50 days, with applications to be received by 5pm on 5 January 2015.

At present some 85% of the IHBC’s corporate planning aims for the five-year period to 2015 have been achieved.  The additional investment of £10,000 in our capacity is intended to support that record as we come to the end of the current term of our corporate plan, in September 2015.  It will also underpin some of the forward planning for the IHBC’s next Corporate Plan, provisionally scheduled for adoption at the IHBC’s AGM in June 2015.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a credible record of senior-level experience and delivery in the following areas:

  • Human resource management, ideally also as it might be applied to the IHBC’s charity and voluntary structures
  • Publications and research, notably including digital technologies and online services
  • Corporate and business planning, in particular as it might apply to the IHBC’s structure and scale
  • Project development and delivery, including both heritage-specific and non-heritage specific

They should also have:

  • capacity to carry out work as required at short notice starting in mid January with 50 days being allocated to this role.
  • sufficient understanding of the functions and operations of the IHBC and the sector to enable work to be carried out immediately.

The successful applicant will operate under the direction of the IHBC’s Projects Officer, Fiona Newton, who is also available for future queries at projects@ihbc.org.uk.

Applications should consist of a cover letter clearly demonstrating competence in each of the above areas, credible and relevant references or endorsements, and a detailed and current CV.

Interviews, if required, will take place in mid January.

Applications should be received at admin@ihbc.org.uk by 5pm on 5 January 2015.
