Members who attended the recent IHBC’s Edinburgh Annual School and heard the presentation by Mike Galloway on his work in Dundee and the ‘Art of conservation at a Masterplanning level’, will be especially interested to learn that the prestigious title of ‘Scotland’s Best Place’ has been awarded by the RTPI to Dundee waterfront.
The runner up was Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park (West Dunbartonshire, Stirling, Argyll and Bute, Loch Lomond and Trossach National Park), with third place being the West Highland Way (East Dunbartonshire, Argyll and Bute, Stirling, Highland, Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park).
The RTPI writes:
As part of our 2014 Centenary celebrations people and organisations across Scotland were asked to vote for the best places that have been built, enhanced or protected by planners and the planning system within Scotland since 1914. After a public vote – where 3724 votes were cast – Dundee Waterfront was announced as the winner.
