The latest Biennial Conservation Report from English Heritage, covering the period 2011-13, was published on 23rd April 2014 and describes how 26 departments, agencies and non-departmental public bodies (including English Heritage itself) manage their heritage assets.
The report identifies significant changes to the management of the departments’ estates, including reports on the establishment of the Canal & River Trust (CRT) in 2012. The report also provides a summary on the proposed English Heritage split, the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act, and details how the government intends to release public-sector land with the capacity to deliver up to 100,000 homes between 2011 and 2015, with the intention of identifying and making available as many brownfield and previously used sites as possible.
