BEFS: Inaugural annual lecture: health and place

The speaker for the inaugural annual lecture of Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) on the 24 February in Edinburgh, is Scotland’s Chief Medical Officer, Sir Harry Burns, who will speak about health and the built environment, with free entry but booking required.

BEFS writes:
The Chief Medical Officer is the Scottish Government’s principal medical adviser and is also Head of the Scottish Medical Civil Service. The post covers every aspect of health in Scotland.

Sir Harry is keen to encourage the ‘assets-based’ approach to people’s health which focuses on behaviours and influences and also the social factors that impact people’s health and wellbeing, especially in their early lives.

He took up post as Chief Medical Officer for Scotland in September 2005.

Entry is free but booking is required via info@befs.org.uk or 0131 220 6241.
