Eddie Booth, IHBC President, has welcomed the news that IHBC’s membership has passed 2000. He said: “This is not only due to our successful membership drives over recent years – people are joining the IHBC because they want to contribute. It is a very healthy sign that so many members have joined in the last two years.”
IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly added: “This year alone we’ve distributed more than 30,000 membership leaflets across the full breadth of conservation interests. Not only do we secure new members this way, with many coming forward as volunteers with professional qualifications, but we also let people know what we’re doing, and why we do it.
Our website is the other way people find us. It’s supported by our members, and open to anyone. The site captures the full breadth of informed public and professional interest in how we conserve our places as resources for the future. It’s hugely popular, and another important reminder of just how diverse and substantial our conservation constituency actually is.”
