Rise in Planners on benefits

The number of town planners claiming Jobseekers Allowance has risen sharply over the last 12 months, according to the figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS). In August, 290 town planners were claiming unemployment benefits compared to 235 in May, and 105 in August 2008, the ONS said.
