Heritage Sector Resilience & Collaboration 2025-26: Call for case studies and survey responses to 19 June

England’s Historic Environment Forum (HEF) is launching a new annual report taking stock of heritage bodies’ actions to strengthen sector resilience, and seeks survey input (only 15 mins) & case studies by 19/06.

HEF writes:

What is the heritage sector doing to build resilience, and what can we learn from working together?

The Historic Environment Forum (HEF) is launching a new annual report that will take stock of how heritage organisations are taking action to strengthen sector resilience, and to understand the role of collective working and joined-up responses in delivering that work. Connected to the Heritage Sector Resilience Plan 2025-35, the report will surface what resilience work is happening, what it is achieving, and what others can learn from it.

To help shape this annual picture, HEF is inviting survey responses from heritage organisations across England, together with a call for case study submissions from colleagues that have good practice and learning to share. The Forum is particularly interested in collaborative, partnership work aimed at building resilience, capacity, or long-term sustainability, or work undertaken independently with shareable outcomes that others can learn from and build on. Report findings and selected case studies will be published later this year.

Please take 15 minutes to complete the survey to help inform this new piece of work for the sector. The survey and call for case studies will close at 5pm on Friday 19 June 2026.
