IHBC’s ‘Research’ Signpost: ‘Spillover impacts’ in publicly funded arts and culture sector measured

The Centre for Economic and Business Research (Cebr) has found that public funding in the arts and culture sector generates indirect economic impact – or ‘spillovers’ – that support the continued growth of the creative industries and wider economic development.

Arts Council England writes:

… These benefits ripple across key policy areas including investment, innovation, employment, exports, skills, public health, and regional regeneration. The report presents evidence of positive economic spillovers, which until now, have been under-recognised, illustrating how public investment in arts and culture enables economic value.
