The IHBC and our West Midlands Branch will join the next West Midlands Heritage Trust (WMHT) Careers Fair, which will come to Worcester Cathedral on 21 October 2026.

The West Midlands Heritage Trust is pleased to announce the West Midlands Heritage Careers Fair 2026, taking place on Wednesday 21 October 2026 at Worcester Cathedral, in partnership with the Heritage Network and Historic England. The annual event brings together students, educators, and leading organisations to explore career opportunities across the heritage, construction, culture, leisure, and arts sectors. From conservation and archaeology to architecture, digital innovation, archives, and historic building management, the event aims to highlight the wide range of pathways into the sector.
For students and early careers
Attendees will be able to meet employers and training providers, explore different career routes, hear from industry professionals, and experience immersive heritage showcases. Speak to potential employers, and learn from peers to how they got involved in the industry.
For organisations
Heritage bodies, construction firms, and cultural organisations are invited to take part as exhibitors, speakers, or demonstrators. Sponsorship opportunities are also available to showcase commitment to skills development, sustainability, and sector diversity.
Shaping the future of heritage
Peter Jenkins, West Midlands Heritage Projects Manager, said: ‘We are delighted to host this year’s Careers Fair at Worcester Cathedral. It is a great opportunity to showcase traditional skills like stonemasonry and inspire the next generation of heritage professionals. Heritage plays a vital role in our culture, economy, and communities, and this event helps bring that to life.’
West Midlands Heritage Careers Fair is on 21 October 2026 from 10.00AM – 3.00PM at Worcester Cathedral. Students and those looking for a career in heritage are welcome to this special event. Meet industry professionals in the sector and learn from the useful talks and Demonstrations on offer.
