Design Council Cabe is looking for Built Environment Experts (BEEs) to work with public and private partners and help deliver places and spaces that benefit everyone, with an introductory event on 19 March.
It is seeking people from a broad range of professional backgrounds who have experience in the field of design and the built environment to serve as Bees.
Design Council Cabe says:
In the past, we have drawn on the services of enablers and Design Review panel members to participate in our activities and provide guidance and advice. We are now refreshing our group of experts to form a single network of Built Environment Experts (BEEs), and would welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds who understand the importance of good design in creating spaces and places that improve everyone’s quality of life.
The members of our expert network make up an unparalleled professional network that provides design support to projects throughout the country. By joining the network, you will not only be paid for the work you do, you will be kept in constant touch with the latest thinking and the important opinion-formers in your field.
· You will be an advocate for Design Council Cabe, aligned with our values and up to date with our key messages.
· You will act professionally at all times and adhere to the code of conduct set out in the handbook provided: ‘The seven principles of public life’.
· You will be fully committed to the projects assigned to you, as defined in our contract.
· Each time we invite you to support a client we will ask you to notify us of any potential conflict of interest.
· You will have Professional Indemnity Insurance wherever the project you are involved in requires it.
· You will provide feedback to the staff team on the progress of individual projects and keep us informed about potentially important trends and good practices we can share with others. This is a key part of your role.
We’ll be running an event 6-8pm on 19 March where you can hear from people who deliver design support for us and find out from them what it’s like to be a BEE.
