Cyark Survey: Help improve OpenHeritage3D data

CyArk, lead in developing 3D recording technologies for cultural heritage, has issued a 5 – 20 minute survey covering issues such as Data Quality and Ethics; Data Usage and Accessibility and Data Preservation.

In 2018 CyArk and partners launched OpenHeritage3D.org, a scholarly open access archival platform to publish, share, and visualize raw 3D data related to cultural heritage sites. In partnership with UC San Diego’s Cultural Heritage Engineering Institute, we’ve opened the platform to dozens of partners worldwide, ensuring that our shared heritage is available to the public, conservators, researchers, and students without any barrier. The platform has proven successful, with over 650 hosted datasets, 1200 unique users per month, and almost 5000 large downloads. We plan to add another 1200 datasets with many significant contributions to the library from new partners in the coming year.

With support from the National Endowment for the Humanities, we’ve developed a short survey that will help us build OpenHeritage3D.org into a robust platform for both creators and publishers of 3D heritage data as well as users of that data….
