IHBC welcomes Home Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition Phase 2 update: Successful project bids include IHBC CPD Recognised Provider ESC

The IHBC has welcomed the Government’s listing of successful project bids for Phase 2 of the Home Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition, which includes IHBC CPD Recognised provider ESC among qualifying training courses.

… allows us to offer quality training at a hugely subsidised cost in England…

logoJohn Edwards, IHBC Technical Panel Chair and Director of Edwards Hart, of which The Environment Study Centre (ESC) is a division, said:  ‘We are very pleased with our success in this competition which recognises the requirement for training in the retrofit of traditional buildings and allows us to offer quality training at a hugely subsidised cost in England.’

‘In meeting the criteria for subsidy, those qualifying must live and have their main address in England, and either work or intend to work on housing retrofit in compliance with BSI’s PAS 2035 either in the roles of a Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinator, Retrofit Evaluator, or Retrofit Designer.’

‘Alternatively, you could be a retrofit installer.’

‘To take advantage of the training subsidy with us, and see if you qualify, your can register at the ESC webpage.’

GOV.UK writes:

… The Home Decarbonisation Skills Training Competition Phase 2 will fund training for people working, or who want to work, in the energy efficiency and building retrofit sectors. The competition aims to increase supply chain capacity, both in terms of volume and skill level.

This increased supply chain capacity will support:

  • the delivery of existing government retrofit schemes such as:
    • Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund
    • Energy Company Obligation
    • Great British Insulation Scheme
    • Home Upgrade Grant
  • the decarbonisation of our buildings in support of the UK’s net zero carbon emissions target.
