The IHBC thanked all who joined the institute’s pilot online ‘Welcome’ event for newer members from across the UK and beyond, with early compliments including that it was ‘…such a welcoming event’ and ‘… a useful introduction’, our two lead ambitions for the hour of fee-free CPD!
… take full advantage of membership with the IHBC…
The welcome session was held on Wednesday 27 and led by Angharad Hart (IHBC’s Application Support Officer) with, this round, David McDonald (IHBC Chair), and Jude Wheeler (IHBC’s Branch Support Officer).
Angharad Hart said: ‘It was wonderful to have the opportunity to meet new members and heartening to see the engagement from those who attended during the session.’
‘Attendees got an opportunity to find out more about how the IHBC operates, the membership pathways available and the benefits available, so they can take full advantage of membership with the IHBC.’
‘As well as offering a warm welcome and exploring the many benefits of IHBC membership, we were also able to understand more about their future training needs and priorities. This information will help shape our evolving training strategy, as we continue to focus on delivering relevant and accessible training and content for all members.’
David McDonald said: ‘We’re delighted with how it went and look forward to seeing many more at our next session, details of which will be announced on the IHBC NewsBlogs as well as through personal invitations to newer members.’
Jude Wheeler said: ‘I very much enjoyed welcoming new IHBC joiners and introducing them to the branches, and the local professional support, networks and CPD they can offer.’
Seán O’Reilly said: ‘Some delegates may also want to log this as formal IHBC CPD! That is of course an option for almost all engagement with IHBC services and benefits, from checking IHBC NewsBlogs updates and reading Context to enjoying our extensive networks and events. CPD-logging only requires a little reflection on what was gained from the experience’.
