HE Training adds learning platform and online courses

Historic England (HE) has launched new training courses for the heritage sector on their dedicated Learning Platform, with ‘Heritage in Planning: Essentials’ open for enrolment alongside a ‘Key Skills’ course on research project management.

… Our training courses for local authorities and heritage professionals cover a variety of topics across several programmes, from the fundamentals of historic environment management through to technical and specialist skills, all aimed at supporting good management of the Historic Environment. They are delivered primarily through e-learning that learners can access when and where suits them best, with webinars, workshops and other blended sessions to support learning.

Heritage in Planning: Essentials

….Essentials is a training programme designed for local authority planners, elected members and early entrants into historic environment services roles.

The programme covers the building blocks of historic environment management and explores key concepts, methodologies, legislation and policies that govern how we understand, protect and manage heritage through the planning system.

Subjects covered also underpin training delivered in the Historic Environment Management and Technical Skills programmes where they are implicit but not covered in detail.
