HE calls for arts and heritage organisations to join their local authority’s ‘Cultural Consortium’ group

Historic England (HE) has called for arts and heritage organisations to Join Their Local Authority’s ‘Cultural Consortium’ Group, which are are being put together as part of 69 new High Streets Heritage Action Zones (HAZ) announced by Government this autumn.

HE writes:

Historic England is calling for arts organisations across England to join their local authority’s ‘Cultural Consortium’ group, which are being put together as part of 69 new High Streets Heritage Action Zones (HAZ) announced by Government this autumn.

Each Cultural Consortium will be made up of arts organisations and community groups which operate in their local area.

Working with their local authority, each Cultural Consortium will be responsible for using available grant funding to create an arts and culture offering that will encourage people to enjoy their local high street. It will be envisaged and delivered by the community, for the community, and will celebrate their high street in whatever way they see fit.

Consortia will be offered training and guidance through a series of development days that will give advice and guidance on how to put on a cultural programme….
