Further coverage of the National Heritage List for England reaching 400,000 entries includes Radio 4’s celebrated ‘Front Row’ discussion on listed buildings – and if we have too many – with Historic England’s (HE) Deborah Mays successfully making the case for ‘cautious care’ to writer and architect, Douglas Murphy and Dr Anton Lang, Chartered Town Planner.
Deborah Mays said: ‘’Front Row’ helped Historic England celebrate our 400,000th listing with what was wonderful opportunity to clarify facts, including about the scale and impacts of the statutory listing process led by Historic England.’
‘I was delighted to be able to address some of the most common received ideas about listing and its consequences.’
