‘Heritage project funding’ conference support

Key sector sponsors for the joint conference on heritage funding, ‘Investing in the past’, to take place in Glasgow on 18-20 November, have been welcomed by the organisers, as IHBC Director Sean O’Reilly, representing one of the partners organising the event, said: “It’s particularly gratifying that, despite these uncertain financial times, we’ve got such substantial votes of confidence in the future of the sector, especially from our private sponsors.”

Seán O’Reilly continued: “Our keynote speaker Loyd Grossman, who has already addressed the IHBC’s Annual School in London in June of this year, has said that ‘in this new environment, where everyone is scrambling around for money, and grants are frozen, we need new ways to operate’.

Our joint conference provides a unique opportunity to find out about those new ways, how they operate, and how best to develop and deliver on funding.

Across the three days topics will span major issues for progressive practitioners and community leaders seeking new funding processes and opportunities to cement their ambitions for the sector.  These range from reviews of European funding and beyond, to delivery models and mechanisms informed by global perspectives and case studies.   They also encompass new ideas and outstanding opportunities for funding heritage projects, such as community shares as well as the many lessons we can learn from the natural environment sector.”

Heritage Solar Slate,  Platinum sponsor to the conference said it ‘is proud to be supporting the joint conference Investing in the past, and looks forward to meeting the excellent audience of conservation professionals that will gather in Glasgow’.

Mark Goldspink, Partner & Chief Executive of Purcell Miller Tritton said: “Purcell Miller Tritton are delighted to be sponsoring the joint IHBC conference in another year.  We believe the continued high standards and direction of these organisations is crucial for the preservation of our heritage.”

Among a remarkable list of sponsors and supporters, endorsements also include those from:

Tony Burton, Director, Civic Voice, who says it ‘promises to be a fascinating event with every effort being made to make it as affordable as possible’.

John Edwards, Chartered Institute of Building Conservation Group Chair, who says it ‘will provide a unique global perspective on the issues and challenges of creatively sourcing and managing funding for heritage projects’.

Ian Lush, Chief Executive of the Architectural Heritage Fund, who says the event  has ‘a good blend of international and domestic speakers, promising a stimulating exchange of views and ideas’.

Delegate rates start from as little as £85(+VAT) and include a civic reception hosted through the generosity of Glasgow City Council.
