Scottish Civic Trust’s (SCT) My Place Awards 2018 is accepting nominations for the best new building, public realm or designed landscape or heritage restoration project in Scotland, with a deadline for nominations of 31 January 2018.
The SCT writes:
Nominations for projects will be considered of:
- New buildings
- Historic buildings or monuments that have been reused or refurbished
- Designed public realm schemes such as street works, parks etc.
- Designed landscapes e.g. gardens or public green spaces
For entries in 2018, only projects in Scotland completed and occupied between 1 January 2016 and 31 January 2018 may be entered.
Nominations can be made by community groups including:
- Civic societies and other local groups affiliated to the Scottish Civic Trust*
- Community Councils
- Development Trusts
- Other community-based voluntary groups or heritage societies
For the 2018 awards nominations can also be made architects, landscape architects, other designers and organisations such as local authorities, building preservation trusts, housing association etc as long as they can demonstrate support from the local community for the project and evidence of positive differences made such as community benefit and placemaking.
