An ex-council house in Essex ‘Talliston House and gardens’ tells the story of different periods in history, incorporating nearly 2,000 objects, in a project that took 25 years to complete.
BBC news reports:
This is no ordinary three bedroomed semi in Essex council house. This semi-detached house in Great Dunmow, Essex has been transformed into the magical world of Talliston House and gardens. There are thirteen spaces each depicting a different place and moment in time. Each room has its own specially created smells and sound effects.
The owner of the house John Trevillian wanted to create a space where time has no power or time stands still. He has taken 25 years to create this project and he lives here. The public can visit the house and there are often artists in residence.
