On behalf of IHBC members and colleagues, Chair James Caird thanked the institute’s North West Branch, its School committee and volunteers, for an excellent 2017 Annual School in Manchester, on 22-24 June, saying also that he looks forward to another CPD triumph at our next School in Belfast in June 2018!
James Caird said: ‘I am delighted to be able to thank and congratulate our North West Branch for hosting and leading on such a terrific Annual School. The Day School had an excellent and challenging theme while the speakers were consistently of the highest quality.’
‘To add to that excellence, the venues – including Manchester’s un-rivalled Town Hall, as well as the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI) venue – enriched the whole learning experience with their special relevance to the School’s theme. The Thursday and Saturday tours also offered unique and invaluable opportunities to interrogate our School theme of infrastructure even further.’
IHBC National Office lead on the management of the event, Operations Director Fiona Newton, said: ‘We all knew the ‘Infrastructure’ theme was going to be challenging, but our busy North West Branch was more than up to the task, not least as it benefits from direct access to some of the UK’s most significant historic – and future – infrastructure.’
‘The speakers and tour leaders were universally applauded as well, altogether confirming MOSI and the Manchester regions as perfect venues, subjects and leads for such a topical conference. Well done to the North West!’
