IHBC members are being asked to help organisations that include Historic England and the British Property Federation (BPF) to update the ‘Heritage Works: The Use of Historic Buildings in Regeneration…’ guide from 2013, with examples of good and best practice sought, to be sent first to IHBC Support Officer Carla Pianese at support@ihbc.org.uk.
Criteria at this point – though suggestions doesn’t have to satisfy all – are:
- Projects to bring a historic building back into use
- Wider area based schemes with a heritage element
- Projects that demonstrate some innovation in terms of the (new) end use
- Suggestions as to where to pursue further information (eg local authorities, developers etc)
Especially welcome are any regional projects involving historic buildings and/or regeneration areas that have involved consultation, close working with the authorities and Historic England to resolve challenging sites, and ideally projects developed since 2013.
Details required include:
- Project Name
- Local planning authority
- Client/Developer (if known)
- Brief explanation of project
- Sources for good images (ideally finished projects, not CGI’s)
Rachel Campbell, Senior Policy Officer, BPF said: ‘In order to support Heritage Works in showcasing the best examples of heritage-led regeneration, we would welcome suggestions from IHBC members for new best practice case studies for inclusion.’
