The Heritage Alliance Heroes award scheme, celebrating the contribution of heritage volunteers, is now open for entries with a deadline of 15 September.

The Heritage Alliance Heroes award scheme was established to celebrate the outstanding contribution to society made by heritage volunteers in England. Now in its fifth year, previous recipients include Portland Works, Bluebell Heritage Railway, Gorton Monastery in Manchester, and the SS Shieldhall in Southampton.
The Award scheme is open to all Alliance member organisations and their members. Entries should demonstrate a distinctive achievement in the past 12 months by a voluntary individual or team. Applying or nominating couldn’t be easier – please submit a short nomination form and send to Alliance Trustee, Denis Dunstone denis.dunstone@talktalk.net. The deadline for applications is 15 September 2015.
The winner will be asked to present a five minute video showcasing the achievement for presentation at The Heritage Alliance’s AGM & Heritage Day. The winner will also receive a memento of the event. The Heritage Alliance Heroes Award 2014 is kindly sponsored by Ecclesiastical Insurance Group.
