Earliest surviving railway tunnel in the world scheduled
Fritchley Tunnel in Crich, Derbyshire has been granted scheduled ancient monument status by Historic England; the tunnel which was built 1793 by Benjamin Outram is believed to be the earliest surviving railway tunnel in the world. View the SAM entry
