Medieval Glasgow heritage site to be heated using energy from the Clyde thanks to net zero funding boost
A group dedicated to preserving and promoting one of the most renowned collections of early medieval sculptures in Europe has been awarded a grant of £150,000 by SP Energy Networks Net Zero Fund to make vital sustainable upgrades to the Home of Viking-age Govan Stones in site in the heart of Govan.

Crooked House: Owners of ‘wonky pub’ ordered to rebuild by South Staffs
The owners of The Crooked House pub have been ordered to rebuild ‘Britain’s wonkiest inn’ after it was destroyed last year in a suspected arson attack, as South Staffordshire Council has served an enforcement notice on the owners of the pub in Himley, near Dudley, having ‘reached a point where formal action is considered necessary.’

High Court quashes Gove decision to block redevelopment of flagship M&S store
The Secretary of State for Levelling Up’s called-in decision to refuse planning permission for a new flagship Marks & Spencer (M&S) store in London has been quashed by the High Court, in a decision that comes after a two-day appeal to challenge last year’s ruling, seen also as a landmark case for demolish and rebuild projects.

Two IHBC Marsh Awards, developed in partnership with the Marsh Charitable Trust celebrate, respectively, civic contributions by retired IHBC members and successful learning in heritage skills, offer awards of £500 and free places at IHBC’s 2024 Annual School in Reading for presentations on June 14, with Award entries closing 31 March 2024.
