Hidden landscapes the heatwave is revealing in the British Isles
Normally kept hidden by lush grasses and crops, old and prehistoric features are making themselves known as a result of the heatwave through imprints on fields and lawns, some for the first time in known memory.

IHBC welcomes Iceni Projects to the HESPR register as scheme heads towards 40 members, of all sizes
Iceni Projects, an award-winning consultancy based in London, Manchester in Glasgow, has become the 39th company to be recognised on the IHBC’s conservation service listing scheme HESPR (Historic Environment Service Providers Recognition) scheme, as Iceni Projects records how membership can ‘demonstrate to both clients and stakeholders our approach, and the high standards we ascribe to as a team of historic environment professionals.’

IHBC’s ‘Heritage from the doorstep’: Millions of trees to be planted along route of HS2 high speed railway
Birmingham live reports on how millions of new trees and 33km of wildlife habitat were among the commitments made by HS2 chiefs in an attempt to minimise the environmental impact of the high speed railway line in the ‘green corridor’ that will run alongside the line between the West Midlands and London.

IHBC’s ‘Heritage across the doorstep’: On Purcell-led ‘Open Treasure’ project at Durham Cathedral winning 3 RIBA awards

A boater has accidentally drained a stretch of the Kennet and Avon Canal – The Kennet and Avon Canal is an 87-mile (140km) waterway linking the River Thames at Reading to the River Avon in Bath – after leaving all the lock gates open.

IHBC’s ‘Heritage from the doorstep’: Regeneration of Bristol’s iconic ‘Generator Building’ given go-ahead by Council
Bristol Live has reported on how the proposed conversion of one of the city’s most iconic buildings – its Grade II listed ‘Generator Building’ (1899), which had remained a derelict shell for decades after the Second World War – has been given the green light by Bristol City Council.
