Director jailed after employees burn to death
Simon Thomerson, Director of Clearview Design & Construction Ltd, has been jailed for eight months after pleading guilty to a health & safety breach that resulted in two brothers working for the company being burnt to death, as reported by the Stone Specialist.

Plácido Domingo and EU Commissioner Navracsics announce Europe’s top heritage award winners 2018 in Berlin
The winners of the 2018 EU Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra Awards, Europe’s top honour in the field, were celebrated during a high-profile awards ceremony in Berlin on 22 June 2018, in the presence of the Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Maestro Plácido Domingo, President of Europa Nostra.

IHBC spotlights ‘EPCs Call for Evidence’ – RESPONSES NEEDED!’
John Preston, Convenor of the IHBC’s Green Panel and Heritage Chair, at the STBA has highlighted the need for responses to a recent ‘Call for Evidence on Energy Performance Certificates’ (EPCs), with responses required by 19 October, while comments and copies of responses may be sent to the IHBC’s consultations support resource in the first instance, at consultations@ihbc.org.uk.

IHBC’s free ‘MATE’ sessions – Supporting accreditation across HESPR members’ staff: Woodhall Conservation, Purcell and RSK
