Following the joint English Heritage (EH), IHBC East Anglia (EA) Branch and Conservation of Traditional Thatch Group (CoTTG) seminar on the conservation of traditional thatch at Cressing Temple, Essex on 15 October, delegates feedback confirmed the success of the pilot day.
IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘Delegates confirmed that this pilot partnership generated an exceptional day of thatch-related conservation learning and understanding. And we also know that that the targeted support for IHBC members and their colleagues in local authorities made it much more accessible to all.’
‘We’re confidently looking forward to extending this programme to a new locations in 2015 so the content can reflect both local practice as well as national policy considerations. Those policies are currently being reviewed by our research consultant, Bob Kindred, while his attendance on the day was especially appreciated by the delegates.’
Feedback comments on the day included:
- ‘An excellent day, delivered by knowledgable speakers. Thank you.’
- ‘Possibly the most useful technical course I have attended for a number of years, and great venue. More, please!’
- ‘Excellent day. The best course I have been on for ages. Many thanks to all concerned
