Housebuilders’ win legal challenge to green belt

A judge has upheld a legal challenge by two housebuilders against a West Midlands council’s decision to adopt a local plan which placed two previously undesignated sites in the green belt, ruling that the authority had failed to take into account the ‘radical’ policy change brought into effect by the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

Lioncourt Homes and Gallagher Homes launched a legal challenge against Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council.
