DCLG review proposes retention of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee

The triennial review of the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has proposed retention of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee (BRAC) which gives independent external advice to the Secretary of State and other ministers on building regulations.

The report issued by the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) summarises the findings of the triennial review that BRAC did comply with the principles of good corporate governance, representing good Value for Money and writes: BRAC ‘must be one of the best value £10ks in public life…as a paid for external consultancy would be at least ten times that’.
