Public ‘Right to Contest’ holding of government land and buildings

Members of the public will be able to request the sale of state-owned land and buildings, the Cabinet Office and Treasury announced yesterday.

Under the new Right to Contest, communities and businesses will be able to submit applications challenging the use of government sites, both vacant and occupied, and ask for their sale.
