An adviser to Number 10 has warned that the government’s planning reforms have led to a planning ‘free for all’ and that the resulting ‘physical harm’ to the countryside could become the ‘defining legacy of this government’.
Nadhim Zahawi, Tory MP for Stratford on Avon and a member of the Number 10 policy board set up to feed ideas from the party’s MPs into the policy machine, said that his constituency had ‘come under intense attack from what I can only describe as rapacious developers’.
