IHBC’s going to the 2013 Natural StoneShow! Are you?

The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) the UK’s professional body for building and historic environment conservation specialists, will be delighted to welcome members old and new at our stand at the 2013 StoneShow at Excel London from 30 April to 2 May, and happy to hear from any volunteers interested in helping on the stand over the three days.

IHBC director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘The IHBC stand will be part of a wider conservation display area, supported by English Heritage, with other colleagues from the English Stone Forum, SPAB & ICON also there. As the Natural Stone Show attracts practitioners and exhibitors from all over Britain and Ireland, as well as from around the world, it is a particularly relevant international platform to highlight the benefits of IHBC membership and services, as well as to promote the IHBC’s dedicated conservation business register linked to our membership standards, HESPR.’

‘And as the IHBC’s 2013 Annual School in June is focussed on skills, it’s especially timely that the Stone Show has a whole day, on 2 May, dedicated to conservation issues for the stone industry and its practitioners. Organised by English Heritage, the sessions provide the perfect CPD complement to balance the wider networking opportunities across the Show, and also set the scene for wider insights to skills priorities and development in the IHBC’s School in June.’

‘Exhibiting at the Show also is a great opportunity for the IHBC to reach specialists and trade interests working with historic buildings in a practical capacity who may not be aware of the work of the institute. IHBC volunteers will be on hand to chat with delegates and exhibitors, but we’re always keen to have more volunteers along at the stand, so let me know if you would like to help out.’
