A large building in Nampa with an unusual history – from 2009 – is up for sale, reports Boise Dev, as the former Macy’s building in the Sugar District development has been made available for sale or lease by Boise commercial real estate firm TOK.

The building opened in 2009 for the national retailer in what was then known as the Nampa Gateway, after Macy’s relocated its store from the Karcher area… in 2017, after the Christmas season… it would close the store… In 2022, robotics firm House of Design took over the building and dedicated 73,000 square feet to research and development… By December… House of Design was in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy… All employees were laid off.
According to Canyon County… records, the building and parking lot are owned by an entity controlled by Salt Lake City developer…
The property is listed for sale for $15.5 million, or for lease.
