IHBC’s ‘Sport’ Context free taster: and limit IHBC fees to £81 & less!

Context, the membership journal of The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), has posted its current ‘Sport’-themed issue online as an up-to-the-minute ‘taster’ for non members, with a reminder that the IHBC current top membership fee can be as little as £81 if tax breaks are used.

Online access to the Institute’s membership journal, Context, is free to all, but usually only happens six months after publication. To highlight member benefits, the current issue is being offered early to non-members. The issue also explores fees and tax breaks, as well as half-price subsidies for those earning less than £17,500p.a. and hardship support for those in need.

This Context also presents important insights into heritage designation by English Heritage; provides essential specialist advice on ‘how to avoid killing yourself’, as well as sporty features on baths, pavilions and garden suburbs, all alongside the usual updates!

IHBC Director Seán O’Reilly said: ‘If you want to keep up to date on current conservation issues be sure to look into the IHBC’s member services and benefits. Danny Boyle reminded us why the UK has a global profile in conservation, precisely because of the lessons learnt in the industrial revolution. Now, as we wait for the next phase, there’s time to find out more about the IHBC’s own achievements!’

‘And of course we also have the excellent cartoons by our editor, Rob Cowan, reminding us how important it is to keep our feet on the ground!’

The ‘Director’s Cut’ in the ‘Sports’ issue of Context explains how top IHBC fees for members can be £15 cheaper than in 2004 in real terms, and the 50% subsidy for those earning below £17,500pa, as well as other benefits and new hardship support.
