The Town of Oakville is investigating after a designated heritage home was demolished despite having the protection of the Ontario Heritage Act.
CHCH-TV writes:
… a town spokesperson says the demolition was done without the necessary permits or authority as required under various provincial legislation and municipal regulations…
‘We want the community to be assured that the town is taking this matter very seriously…’
… ‘Any violations will be addressed in accordance with town policies and applicable laws,’ they said.
