‘Heritage VAT raid’: recent update from FMB on partnership successes…

The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) is currently active in helping link activities opposed to the ‘Heritage VAT raid’, including the work of the IHBC, and ahs recently provided an update on press coverage achievements by the partner bodies.

FMB writes:
I just wanted to provide an update to ensure you were all aware of the positive outcomes from our story in last week’s Times. Hopefully most of you have seen the flurry of letters that were printed in the paper in response to the story. Most of them adding further strength to our arguments and backing our calls for the Government to step back and carry out a further review… Well done also to The Heritage Alliance who managed to get a great full page article from their Chairman Loyd Grossman into ‘Country Life’ magazine this week…

There was further coverage in the regional press and the Tax Payers Alliance also published a blog on the issue – see: LINK

Thanks to the level of response, the Times also seem interested in following up with a further story in the news pages. We’ll keep working on this until we see any further announcement from the Government.

The Listed Property Owners Club has also been running an advert in the Telegraph containing the letter to Osborne and Peter Anslow’s signature. The advert directs people to the LPOC website where there is further information about supporting the campaign….

BEFS, Scotland’s link body for built environment interests, also has succeeded in raising profile over the issue in Scotland.
