IHBC features ‘Heritage from the (church) doorstep’: Group behind Aberdeen’s St Nicholas Kirk revamp could take reins of Peterhead Carnegie building

The group expected to take the reins of the Carnegie Building remains under wraps, but it could be Scot-Art, the charity behind plans to reopen the historic St Nicholas Kirk, reports Aberdeen Live.

Aberdeen Live writes:

… Aberdeenshire Council started looking for a new operator to run the St Peter Street building last summer. Originally constructed in the 1890s, it was recently the home of the town library and Arbuthnot Museum… now set to be transformed into a major new arts and cultural venue…

… This could mean the historic site would open its doors to various groups, charities and start-up businesses….

An application for funding to repair the building has been submitted to Historic Environment Scotland….
