Given the strategic importance of our business to conservation practice in the UK, IHBC CPD certificates will be available to AGM attendees

Tim Greensmith is a conservation architect specialising in the repair and re-use of industrial heritage to deliver socio-economic regeneration. Over the past decade and a half Tim was Project Architect, for architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios, on the £30m conservation and repair of the Grade I listed Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, dubbed ‘the grandparent of the skyscraper’. Tim led a team of brilliant designers and engineers, working hand in hand with client Historic England, conservation contractor Croft Building & Conservation and a very supportive local community.

David McDonald writes:

…. The full programme of IHBC CPD for  the AGM will open at 5.30pm with a talk by Tim Greensmith entitled ‘Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings – Back from the Brink’, and serves as a membership-only prelude to our 2025 Annual School in Shrewsbury, from 12-14 June: #IHBCShrewsbury2025.

Those attending the IHBC Annual School 2025 in June will also have the opportunity to get a closer look at the site, as it is one of the featured Thursday and Saturday tours for full school delegates.

The AGM is a critical moment in our cycle of governance and all categories of membership are strongly encouraged to attend.

The AGM Agenda [for members only] … includes links to the Trustees’ Report and Financial statement for the year ending 30 September 2023 and personal statements from the two newly nominated trustees.

At the meeting, our accredited members – that is Associates, Full Members and Retired – will vote on the appointment of Trustees to the Board following an uncontested election, in line with our new Articles.

Those being appointed for a second three year term are as follows:

  • Des Cairns – Trustee for Northern Ireland

Those being appointed for the first time are:

  • Shona Simpson – Trustee for Scotland
  • Dave Chetwyn – Trustee and IHBC Secretary

PROXY VOTING: All voting members (Full, Associate and Retired) are encouraged to vote in advance of the AGM using our proxy forms – Short or Long – in case of non-attendance or technical issues during the online AGM. Proxy arrangements close at 12 noon on 13 May 2025. The links to the proxy forms are shown above and below.

PLEASE NOTE: The IHBC’s Annual General Meeting is open exclusively to IHBC members

IHBC members of ALL categories are encouraged to attend.

Voting at the Annual General Meeting is open ONLY to Full, Associate and Retired IHBC members. Affiliates and Supporters do not have votes, but are encouraged to attend the entire programme.
