IHBC features ‘Heritage from the doorstep’: Dispute over who got Waterworld listed… either way Council says it won’t cost more

Wrexham Council could exploit the new Grade II listing of Waterworld to access ‘funding that was otherwise unavailable for a non-listed asset’, reports the Wrexham News.

Wrexham News writes:

… it has emerged Wrexham Council worked to gain the Grade II status for the building… The listing topic has been active for a decade, with Cadw rejecting an application back in 2014…

… Following a re-assessment, Cadw finally confirmed a Grade II designation for the building in February 2025.’..
